About This Coffee
This is a community coffee from Gold Mountain Coffee Growers (GMCG) in Matagalpa, Nicaragua's premier coffee-growing region. It's sourced from multiple smallholder member farmers whose individual lots are fully traceable, then combined into a single offering that represents the best of what the region produces.
Matagalpa sits in Nicaragua's central highlands, where misty mountain conditions and fertile volcanic soil have supported coffee cultivation for over a century. The washed process brings out a clean, well-defined cup with remarkable depth: warm brown sugar sweetness, bright cherry acidity, and a satisfying nutty finish with notes of chocolate and graham cracker as it cools.
Brewing Tip
Nicaragua is an excellent everyday coffee. It performs beautifully in a drip machine or pour over at a 1:16 ratio. For a richer, more syrupy cup, try it as a French press with a 4-minute steep - the brown sugar sweetness becomes remarkably pronounced.
